One busy weekend over and done with

So my weekends this Spring keep getting full. This month especially is very busy for Steve and I. Hudson started OB classes, so that will continue every Saturday morning until May 31. This past weekend, I had a million things to do Friday night before heading out Saturday for Nikki's shower. I had to have my tires balanced at Steve's work, get an oil change, drop off stuff at my friend's house, pick up something else at someone else's house, pick up dinner, stop at Wegman's to get a card and wrapping paper. By the time we got home, it was 11:30pm, I still had to shower and wrap the gift, so by the time I got to bed, it was like 1:00am. I had to get up bright and early for Hudson's 8:30am class...then head off the Binghamton for the bridal shower. Phew.

Then Sunday, Steve and I cleaned the house top to bottom since we haven't had time to get down and dirty with that....then we had to run more errands Sunday, I got the rest of the stuff I need for Nikki's card box, so that's good. I haven't yet started the box yet, but Steve thinks we can get it done in one day.

This coming weekend I have Grandpa's funeral, I'm getting my dress hemmed Saturday morning, going to Jen's engagement party that afternoon, then we have Charli's 2nd birthday party on Sunday. Then I think I have a little break in there.

Then, finally, we have Nikki's wedding!! I'm so excited, that will be so much fun! I'm dying to see the boys all dressed up!

Ok, time to get back to work....

How I love thee

So I've had my new truck for almost two days. Although I'm somewhat sad about not having the Jetta anymore (man I miss driving stick!) I totally love the Pilot! We put Shelby in the cargo area to test it out, she looks so small sitting back there!

I ordered the cargo area divider already, along with a heavy duty rubber cargo liner for the dogs. I want to make sure the truck doesn't get all gross because of them. I should be receiving those items early next week! I'm excited!

This weekend is busy for me, I have Nikki's shower on Saturday, I might stay the weekend with her, I'm not sure yet - I HAVE to start her cardbox! OMG I've been putting it off for so long...I really need to get on it! On Sunday, I promise to start it. I'm going to put the laptop right next to me so I can follow Heather's instructions step by step so I don't screw it all up! If I can at least start the damn box, I'll be happy. I have to make one more trip to get the last of the materials I'll need, so I'll have to go to Walmart Sunday too. I'll get it done! I do best under pressure!

Steve will be busy this weekend too, he's got a friend's birthday party Saturday night - I might try to meet up with him if I come back from Binghamton early enough - we'll see.

Work has still been kicking my ass - this week has gone by really fast. Next week will be a short week for me since we have Grandpa's funeral on Friday.

Time to get back to work...

My new car!

So for the past couple of months, I have been thinking about getting a new car. My car is finally paid off, and I truly can't believe how fast 5 years went by. I remember so clearly going to look at the car, picking out the color, test driving it and everything with my dad. That was June of 2003. My Jetta was BRAND SPANKING NEW, with only 8 miles on it! It's been a great little car for me, besides the window falling into the door in -9 degrees while driving on the thruway...

Anyways, I have been looking for an affordable SUV to cart around my zoo of a family. Having the dogs has ruined both backseats in our cars. Steve's backseat leather now has scratches, holes, rips and tears in them and my backseat is just covered in dog hair. I mean COVERED. It is disgusting. I can never have passengers (unless up front) because of all that nastiness!

All SUVs I've been looking at have been over my price range. Not that I can't afford it, but I really don't WANT to afford it. I want to be smart and know my limits. I want to still travel, go out to eat, and enjoy myself.

So what we've landed on (after test driving a few others) is a 2005 Honda Pilot SUV. It's spacious enough for us, our dogs and all our "gear." It seats 8 passengers so Steve and I were joking that could seriously have a litter of 6 kids and still fit in this vehicle. The last row of seats folds down completely flat, so the dogs have plenty of room. We're getting one of those dividers too, along with a really tough rubber floor for the cargo space so the dogs can't do any damage. We're so thrilled! Steve is wanting a new car now too, but only because I'm getting one. He's even thinking about trading in his motorcycle! (Which I totally won't let him do!)
I'll post more pictures when I get the truck home! I should be able to pick it up Wednesday. We'll see.

Not productive....at all!

So I really tried - ok I really told myself that I'd really try - to get stuff done this weekend that I've been putting off.

I started the weekend out by going to Hudson's first obedience class (without him) so I could meet the instructor, have orientation etc. There are about 12 other people in this class and I, of course end up sitting next to some lady, her two kids, their toys and their rudeness. Yes, I know kids are noisy, I know kids get restless, but that's why parents should leave them at home. I'm all for having kids understand how to teach dogs, having them be a part of daily activities etc, but that means that the kids (and parents) should be paying attention in class! The boy, with heelies on, was everywhere. The little girl, played a video game (with sound effects), then finally, mom decided she'd READ to the kids. In the middle of class. Ok, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!? I paid $100 for this damn class and I will get everything out of it that I can. I'm not sitting close to that family again.

Then I met Nikki in Syracuse for some shopping. I was able to deliver the banner, which she LOVED! I'm so excited that she loves it. It will look so good hanging in her reception hall. It's getting really close...41 days before she's MARRIED!

We were able to shop and talk and shop and talk...which I really need these days and she's the closest friend I have at the moment...it totally sucks that we live so far from each other...I wish they would move home, but that's impossible since they own so many buildings there...argh.

The shopping was fun though, it's been a while since I've spent a considerable amount of money on clothes and such and spring stuff is out so I got some fun stuff for spring/summer.

So Sunday, Steve and I got up, cleaned the house finally, and were prepared to head off to WalMart so I can get the last thing I need for this card box. Before I knew it, he was snoozing on the couch...so I thought, I'll wait a little bit and we can go later in the afternoon. Before I knew it, I was asleep on the couch too...until ALMOST 5PM! What the hell!? I just lost an ENTIRE day! Needless to say, we didn't make it out to WalMart, I only made it to Wegmans to get dinner. Lazy Sunday...to say the least.

Ok, so that means, I have to really get my ass in gear next weekend. I HAVE to at least START the damn box.

I'm out.
