Wow. Unexpected to say the least. The VP of my company set up a meeting with me to "go over status of things, to see how things are progressing" so in my mind...I thought it was a "this is a tough client but we all need to push through it" type of meeting. The first 20 minutes was a status meeting, discussing what's going on with my account, what needs improvement, what's going well etc.
Then she dropped the bomb. "Annnnnd....I'm promoting you to Account Executive."
Wait. WHAT!? Really?
AWESOME. Yes, I got misty eyed...so did the VP. It ended nicely with a hug and a FAT raise.
I rock.
